I MAKE THINGS UP, AMONGST OTHER THINGS

It’s not just me, though. I write the things then my partner, Silvia, translates them into other languages (Italian so far, but Spanish is coming soon™). We are also working on translating some older, more obscure, fiction to go alongside my own obscure fiction. Our first book – ‘Ex Astris Scientia and Other Stories’ – is currently available in English, Italian and as a parallel text of the two languages in paperback (from various online retailers) and eBook format (on the Kindle store but free of the DRM that locks you in, if you’d rather use a different device). Our second is currently cooking. Stay tuned for updates.

Our Team

Nicholas Luckham

Nick has procrastinated for forty years rather than actually sitting down and writing something destined for publication. It’s been a series of expanding vacillations that took him through professional music performance, the soulless drudgery of sales, the nightmare of customer service, logistics administration (which is actually ok), and, more recently, teaching guitar and English and (to his surprise and confusion) ethics, and staring into the middle distance wondering what it all actually means in the grand scheme of things. Silvia, finally convinced him his work was worth reading and here you see the result.

Silvia Bellucci

Silvia is a mother, teacher, tabla player, singer, linguist, artist and all round wonderful person. From Italy to England via Spain and India, she has cut a swath of kindness and wellbeing across at least two continents, bringing sunshine to every room she enters.
Now, as her daughter prepares for university and then the real world, such as it is, and as she finds herself saddled with Nick on a permanent basis, she looks to a future uncertain yet full of possibility. Translation and music will, no doubt, be only a small part of it, but it’s what got us started on this wild journey.

Kali & Crumpet

The pair of them are crazy.
Kali (seen at the top) was abandoned by a neighbour when they moved away and was slowly convinced that we were ok and we had food until she lived with us. We’re not sure how old she is, but she is strange and confused and somewhat distrustful of people. At least she’s happy.
Crumpet (below) is newer and still very young. She eats and plays and occasionally comes to sit with you. Sometimes she gets overexcited, bites, then has to have a little lie down.
Two of them is a bit much, really, but they’re pretty cool.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. He’s unsettling and he’s not really there, anyway.
